SMAS Pictures uploaded

I uploaded some photos from the September meeting that we had at Chere’s house.
Just click on SMAS under photo albums on the right side links bar.
We had a great time and of course I took pictures and ate MM’s.

Here is a picture of a couple of the gals that were there.
Patty and Sandra are sharing projects they have been working on.

The next image will be at my house if the gas situation gets better here. We still have shortages and again I got
up early today and went to find some gas.  They say a couple more weeks of this mess.
Well I am off to get more pictures ready and get some photos of my quilts up later this week.

Whew it has been a while, One year since an update.

Well it isn’t because of any particular reason. I have been pretty busy though with work and guilds and all that fun stuff.

I have been working over a year now for Blank Quilting Fabrics. It is a great job with a lot of travel. My territory started out with southeastern Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. Then I was given Georgia and now I have parts of Mississippi and Louisiana as well. I get the luxury of visiting all the quilt shops in these areas and showing them all that Blank has to offer. I have been in large shops, small shops, heirloom sewing shops, sewing machine shop etc. It has been a blast. The only downside is the long trips because I usually go and come back home on the same day. Now with the expanded territories I will be spending days away from home. I will be updating my shop pages with links to all those shops.

I am hoping to focus a lot on the Applique group that I started. My friend Chere has taken over this last year as President and I know she is ready for a break. I am lookiing forward to getting back in the loop. I have been making some applique stuff but not as much as I wanted to.
I am still a member of the Cherokee Rose Quilt Guild and this year I was on the Ways and Means, Programs and Challenge Quilt committees. Next year I volunteered to keep the website for the guild updated and the challenge quilt committees. Stuff that will allow me to miss meetings while I am traveling.

My surgeries are all complete now on my nose now and I want to thank all of you that sent me get well wishes. My last surgery was in May. The only thing left to be done is to have the dermatologist blend the skin on the tip of my nose with the part that had all the surgeries. I haven’t made the appointment yet though. Another thing to put off for now.

I have been sewing and quilting away and will have tons of pictures to upload this week, thanks to the gas shortage here in Georgia, I have a bit more time this week to do this. I will post a note here then they are uploaded.

The other thing that is keeping me busy is yard work. I tell you what, that job is never done. Sometimes like today, you just have to tell yourself, “enough is enough” and “time for a break”. I have been laying sod in the back and planting bushes and flowers and shrubs. Not an easy task when your yard is on a hill, I know quilt whining!

Well it is time to get this site back online and start uploading pictures.

Wonderful Day of Applique

The Southern Magnolia Applique Society had our first meeting of 2008 today. We are the only Georgia chapter of The Applique Society.

We are coming up on our second Anniversary and we always celebrate it in a big way. We as a group have a retreat to celebrate each Anniversary, we book a cabin or two and sew and chat and eat for a weekend. Usually this is right around shop hop time and so we get to rest from that as well.

I have uploaded all the photos to the SMAS Gallery. This is the direct link to the January 2008 Gallery.

It isn’t very often I get to be in the pictures as I am usually taking them.
This is me with my finished BOM.

You can also see the work that was done on my nose over the holidays.
Still some swelling especially on the bridge area.

This is a photo of the other gals as the meeting. This is Chere, Judy, Sue and Anne.

The Best Laid Plans

Well I was hoping to get the site updated and get some goodies uploaded but it took me longer to change things and health got in the way.
I am hoping to have some EQ6 projects on the site soon as well as quilts for sale.  I have a lot of gatherings this week and then I will be
able to work on the site more.

My 2 surgeries that I had so far are healing nicely, I got all the stitches out this week and now I am just waiting for the swelling to go down.
They did rebuild my nose and the Dr. used my septum to rebuild it instead of taking it from somewhere else.
This is the first time in over 3 years that I haven’t had to wear a bandage or bandaid on my nose.  I can also breathe better except for the
allergies that I have this week.

Our weather has went from 20,s for a high back to 60’s so I plan on airing out the house this week and getting it scrubbed before the next rain comes.

Happy New Year everyone, by the way, my resolution is to finish one UFO a month, so far I am 1 for 1.
