Busy Appliqueing and Pulling Weeds

Wow these weeds in the garden just never go away. I have been pulling since spring and they are multiplying faster than I can pull them. I like working outside though because I just love warm weather. Of course that is easy for me to say, we here in sunny Atlanta which is usually quite warm seems to be much colder than most of the USA is right now. Even places that are usually cool in California are baking. I remember in Monterey we ran the heat most of the summer. I thought it was cold.

Oh by the way Go Redsox!!! They lost today but they still rule.

I have been working on a few things this month and thought I would post a couple of the images. I have posted them in the Gallery I have about 5 other things to post but they can wait until later when I have a bit more time. I have appliqued so much this month that tomorrow I plan on working on a Christmas piece all by machine. Need to give my finger some rest for some more weed pulling. If I like how it turns out I may make two. One for the bank and one for me.

On the topic of applique, I found an applique needle last month that I really love, I found it at the Hancocks that is next to the Ashby sewing center on Canton Rd. Marc is an excellent Pfaff dealer and I take mine there for tune-ups. Anyway, this needle is called Mary Arden of England. Well they are the best. Nice tips, easy to thread, thought I still use a threader because I am used to using one. That age thing you know. Well I went back up there and I was excited, I was going to buy every package left. Well guess what, they were gone and the ones that were left i.e betweens were discounted. They aren’t going to carry them any more. Talk about your BOO HOO moments. I had praised these needles, gave out samples to my quilting buddies now I need to figure out how to get those back : ) .

Right now I am listening to Annie’s Podcast and it is great as usual. She said that some folks were leaving bad comments on her site. Why do people go out of their way to be mean. Really folks if you don’t like her, don’t visit here site. Pretty easy I say. If I ever move back to California, I would have to look her up before I even unpacked.

My daughter is coming back here from Colorado to go back to college this weekend and I hope to spend some time with her before she gets busy with classes. Maybe we can take a trip up to see my other daughter in North Carolina and of course the grandkids. I miss them all. I will try to get those pictures posted this month as well.

I have guild tomorrow night and the speaker is Barbara Rainwater, I just recently saw one of her quilts and it was awesome. I would love to take a class with her. Right now though I have the choice of gas or class. Of course gas wins though just barely.  grin

Well I am off to some popcorn and a movie. Have fun and I will post my Christmas project tomorrow before I leave for guild.
