Missing Simply Quilts?
Are you already missing Simply Quilts? I know I am, dumb company, how dare they take it off the air. It was just getting better and better.
Are you going crazy with needing to see or hear someone on the air talk about quilting. Well there are some solutions I have found that help.
I have posted some links to things that may help you chase the blues away on those days when you’re sewing by yourself and just need to hear a familiar voice or you want some background noise that inspires you.
Who knows, if we get enough of these we may never have a bad day. I can promise you these are addictive so yo have been warned.
Alex Anderson Podcasts:
Did you know she is offering podcasts. It is so wonderful to hear that familiar voice. Heck half the time I watched Simply Quilts I was sewing so it was the voice I was listenening to. She has been having wonderful interviews and I have learned a few things along the way. Her interview with Superior Threads owners was a great one.
Bonnie Lyn McCaffery:
This one is new and wonderful and I hope she continues to air these. Bonnie offers the first Video Podcast for quilters. I have watched the one that she currently has on her site and the quality is great. Most of the others I am hoping follow suit and offer video as well as audio.
Annie Smith Annie was the first podcast I found and I listen faithfully. I have even found myself getting upset when she doesn’t have a new podcast a week. How dare she have a life!
I have even donated a bit to her site in the hopes that she keeps it going. So if you do visit and like it as much as I do she has a link for donating through paypal.
QNN This is one I put on for background noise. It tries to cover a wide audience such as longarm quilters ( I am not one of these), embroidery lovers, quilters (yep that is me), EQ users, purse makers, doll makers and more.
If you like the pioneers in quilt shows such as Eleanor Burns, Shar Jorgensen and Nancy Zieman you will love it. One thing about QNN is they are targeting beginners and so many of the shows may not be for you, yet you will still be able to find some shows of interest.
QNN is great for all the quilters that live overseas, now they can see some of the shows we have been watching for years.
Well I hope these shows are just the beginning of a wonderful quilting friendship through our computers.
Locker Hooking, Not for me!
Well I went to the Cherokee Rose Quilt Guild today and we had a workshop on Locker Hooking. Nope not for me. That is all I need is another project that makes use of my hands. I don’t have enough time to complete all the applique projects and not to mention hand piecing or quilting. So I gave my project I started to someone that likes it. I did keep the needle/hook though because you just never know when those may be useful for something else.
I am working on about 4 different projects right now and will get some photos uploaded to Albums as soon as I write this.
It is now 98° here in Georgia today and I am praying for some much needed rain. Bye for now.

Wow 3 months since a post!
Well I do have a great excuse. Less computer time and more quilting time until this week. I have been working on the site for the Applique Group that I got started here in Georgia. Here is the link if you want to have a look at it. Southern Magnolia Applique Stitchers. I am pretty happy with it. I just finished the photo album section of the site today and hope to get the photo album section of this part of my site updated soon.
I have been getting a lot done and hope to continue at this pace. : ) We know how that goes. Have fun and happy quilting!!!
